Avoid Email Mistakes in 2 Simple Steps

Email mistakes are way more common than you’d think.

And they hurt your reputation in ways that aren’t even measurable…

Just because your last email had a misspelling and you didn’t see a huge spike in unsubscribes, doesn’t mean your audience didn’t notice – or that they don’t care!

In today’s world, face-to-face interactions are becoming fewer and fewer.  So your audience relies on the digital content you send out to gauge how reliable, professional and trustworthy you and your brand are.

That means a single typo can seriously tarnish your reputation!

So while we know that checking your work isn’t the fun part, taking the time to look over your messages before you hit send is 100% necessary.

And luckily, we have a simple 2-step technique that will help you avoid email mistakes!

How to avoid email mistakes

Right inside the Email Editor, you’ll see 2 options at the very top of your screen: Send a test email and Preview.

Together, these two features help you see your content with a fresh perspective – so you can hone in on any email mistakes you may have missed!

1. Preview Your email

First up is the Preview feature.

Sometimes all you need is a quick setting change to open your eyes a bit to catch mistakes you would have otherwise overlooked. And when you select Preview, you’ll see different 2 versions of your email!

On the left is a classic desktop view and on the right is a mobile-optimized view:

So in addition to the proofing benefits, you can also be sure your email looks great across multiple devices!

2. Send a test email

Next, when you click Send a test email, you can enter any email address you would like as the recipient:

The system will send your exact email (labeled as a [Test]) so you can check to be sure the message looks just as you intended it to, from the subject line to the formatting, to the content!

We’re all human, and we all make mistakes.

But, by taking advantage of simple tools like this you can avoid mistakes in your own emails.

Remember, a little effort goes a long way when it comes to protecting the reputation of your brand!
